And so it starts
I knew it was coming and there is no stopping it. Break out the long underwear and throw another log on the fire because it is going to be a long, cold winter.

- Suburban residents who heat with natural gas will pay $50 to $100 more each month this winter because of increases in the cost of Peco Energy's gas supply, the company announced today.
Peco, which provides gas service to about 470,000 households, businesses and institutions in Philadelphia's Pennsylvania suburbs, said it would increase the commodity price that it passes along to customers by 27 percent on Thursday, from $1.30 per ccf (100 cubic feet) to $1.65.
Peco spokesman Michael Wood [ed. ironic, his name is wood] said a typical rowhouse customer who uses 100 ccf each month will face an increase of about $50 per month in the six-month heating season, compared with last year.
The monthly price would rise about $100 for a customer in a 2,400-square-foot single-family home, Wood said.
