Another car

The Mrs and I are in the market for a car for her to drive instead of the FamilyTank. The damn thing gets awful mileage and should not be used for anything except trips where we need the cargo space. I plan on spending a lot of time at this site:www.fueleconomy.gov : Gas Mileage, greenhouse gas emissions, air pollutant emissions and safety ratings of new and used alternative fuel vehicles. In the end though, we are probably going to end up buying a VW Golf or Passat ... automatic, diesel. I really wish the domestic car manufacturers had not stopped producing diesels.
