Abuse worker accused of hiding daughter's rape ... for money.
Nope, the evil made it back to the shores of Delaware. Now a woman who works as a Social Service Employee of the state is pimping her daughter:
- A woman arrested after she allegedly accepted money in return for keeping her teenage daughter's rape quiet is a Delaware County social worker who works with sexually abused children, Wilmington police said yesterday.
Delores Goss, 54, of Wilmington, told police last week that her live-in boyfriend, Albert Laing, 38, raped her 15-year-old daughter in September.
Police said that when Goss found out about the rape, she approached Laing, who apologized and entered into a written, notarized contract to pay Goss $500 every two weeks for 10 years for her silence.
- According to police, Goss reported the rape to authorities on Sunday. Police said they responded to a call from the victim's home around 11 p.m. It was then that the Goss told investigators about the rape.
Goss was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of hindering prosecution. She was released on $1,000 bail.
Laing was charged with two counts of second-degree rape and one count of hindering prosecution. He was taken to the Howard R. Young Correctional facility in Wilmington after failing to post $41,000 secured bail.
